Judo ju­nior king in Eu­ros call-up

A Cam­bus­lang teenager has been se­lected for this month’s Euro­pean Judo Cham­pi­onships in Warsaw. Neil MacDon­ald is a Scot­tish ju­doka who is ju­nior world No 1 in his weight class. The 19-year-old, who trains at the Bri­tish Judo Cen­tre of Ex­cel­lence in Wal­sall, is the top-ranked -60kg ju­nior ju­doka and he won sil­ver at the 2016 Ju­nior Euro­pean Cham­pi­onships in Malaga. The youngest mem­ber of the Bri­tish team, this will be Neil’s Euro­pean Cham­pi­onships de­but. He will com­pete on the first day of the com­pe­ti­tion, which runs from April 20 to 23.
