No thanks to Glasgow

Rutherglen Reformer - - Refromer View -

As ever, the merest mention of Rutherglen and Cambuslang ever returning to Glasgow promoted debate on social media after our story last week. Here is what you had to say:

“Glasgow would dearly love to get both Rutherglen and Cambuslang back again. As one Glasgow councillor said when it was announced that they were going into South Lanarkshire -‘But Glasgow needs the money from them.’ It was the only thing they were interested in.”- Elaine Nicol

“The town hall would have ended up being bulldozed after being left to rot for years under Glasgow. No thanks.”Jim Mulholland

“I’d prefer if Rutherglen and Cambuslang was it’s own council. Glasgow threw all the rubbish they didn’t want into us and we are at the tail end of South Lanarkshire. A burgh of Rutherglen’s size and the size of Cambuslang we do not have one proper 11-a-side park.”- Alex Mcdowall
