All set for a taste of Rihanna and Justin
Tribute acts sign up for Summerfest
Revellers at Summerfest can get ready to party to the music of two worldfamous acts.
Organisers have secured two of the UK’s leading tribute acts to perform at this year’s event on June 17.
Rihanna Reloaded is described as “the UK’s most accurate tribute to Barbadian beauty Rihanna”.
The show, which could include hits such as Umbrella, Don’t Stop the Music and Work, has been performed across the world including in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
Also performing will be the Justin Bieber Experience.
Dubbed “the closest thing to the real Bieber this side of the Atlantic,” the show is actually based in Glasgow.
With the Canadian singer once again enjoying chart success, this show is bound to be a hit with potential performances of Baby, Love Yourself and Sorry.
Last year tribute acts Little Fix and One and Only Direction wooed the crowds with their tributes to two of the UK’s leading acts.
John Edgar, chair of the Summerfest organising committee, reckons the tribute acts add something different to the event.
He said: “We are over the moon to get them.
“We have got to try to change it up every year. People can get fed up if they don’t see something different and hopefully this will bring more people out. Everything we do is for the whole community.
“The fun rides will be £1 again and we’ll have a bucking bronco and bungee for the older kids.
“We’ll also be doing a special arts and crafts.”
The group also found out last week they would receive a £2000 grant from the Rutherglen and Cambuslang area committee.
Other acts confirmed for Summerfest 2017 are Bushido Karate, Pauline Grant, Quicksilver Line Dancers, Dance Elite and the Cambuslang Parish Church Pipe Band.
