Juke­box tea dance to take place

A juke­box tea dance will be held in Ruther­glen next month.

Or­gan­ised by the Cam­bus­lang and Ruther­glen ‘Core’ group, the event will be held at St Colum­bkille’s Church Hall and is open to ev­ery­one.

On the night there will be live 50s mu­sic, prizes and snacks.

Tick­ets are free, but lim­ited and will go on sale to the pub­lic at the start of May.

As part of event dance lessons will also be held ev­ery Thurs­day un­til May 18. The classes will run from 6.308.30pm at St Colum­bkille’s Church Hall when mem­bers will learn two rou­tines which will be per­formed at the tea dance.

The dance classes are free and open to ev­ery­one, men and women, and re­gard­less of mo­bil­ity is­sues. The dance rou­tines will in­clude sit down dances.

The tea dance and as­so­ci­ated classes are sup­ported by South La­nark­shire Coun­cil’s com­mu­nity learn­ing and home school part­ner­ship ser­vice and funded by Clyde Gate­way.
