Rob­bie’s Bafta nod

Ruther­glen ac­tor Rob­bie Coltrane has been nom­i­nated for a Bafta award.

The star was se­lected be­cause of his work in last year’s Chan­nel 4 drama ‘Na­tional Trea­sure’.

The pro­gramme, in which he played a for­mer com­edy star ac­cused of his­toric sex crimes, was also nom­i­nated for best mini-se­ries.

Rob­bie – real name Robert McMil­lan – grew up in the Royal Burgh.

His fa­ther Ian was a sur­geon and his mother Jean was a teacher and a pi­anist.
