Buddies grateful for grand cheque
A group for people aged 14 and over with additional support needs is celebrating after being presented with a cheque for £1200.
Camglen Buddies is based in the Harry Heaney Centre in Spittal.
They have run arts and crafts, karaoke, Wii and other activities for the past two years as well as outings to places like Ayr and the Kelpies.
On Friday, March 31, John Casey from Burnhead Bowling Club joined the group to hand them a cheque for £1200.
He organised an afternoon in the club with after dinner speakers John McKelvie Ex CID, John Gahagan, ex-Motherwell player, and lawyer Phil Copland. The afternoon was a great success. Siobahn Harkin from Camglen Buddies said:“We would like to thank Angela Glancey, Kerry and Joe Docherty for helping on the day. Their kind donation means so much and we can’t thank them all enough for taking the time to raise this money.”
The club is on every second Friday from 7-9pm. Siobahn added:“If you know anyone who would benefit from attending our club then please give us a call on 07437 897637 .”
