The mother of a four-year-old autis­tic boy slammed South La­nark­shire Coun­cil for tak­ing away her life­line sup­port ser­vice.

Amanda Ay­ton was a lead­ing light in the cam­paign to pro­tect the La­nark­shire Autism One Stop Shop, where she had been tak­ing her son, Lyle.

To­gether with other par­ents, teach­ers and health pro­fes­sion­als, she signed a pe­ti­tion urg­ing both North and South La­nark­shire coun­cils to con­tinue fund­ing the project.
