A 39-year-old male has been re­ported to the procu­ra­tor fis­cal af­ter a car crashed into a lamp­post on Bankhead Road.

Po­lice re­ceived a report of a car hav­ing struck a lamp­post around 10.20pm on April 18.

The ve­hi­cle and driver were sub­se­quently traced, and the driver found to be over the pre­scribed al­co­hol limit.

A full report con­tain­ing a num­ber of charges will be sub­mit­ted to the PF. A male was ar­rested af­ter be­ing found in pos­ses­sion of a quan­tity of white tablets thought to be di­azepem.

The 33-year-old was stopped on Over­ton Street in Cam­bus­lang at around 1am on Satur­day, April 22.

A report has been sub­mit­ted to the procu­ra­tor fis­cal. Po­lice of­fi­cers dis­cov­ered an air weapon at a prop­erty in Clyde Place in Cam­bus­lang.

The weapon, which was found around 8pm on Sun­day, April 23, had re­mained un­reg­is­tered since the im­ple­men­ta­tion of the Air Weapons Act.

A 31-year-old male has been re­ported to the procu­ra­tor fis­cal. Po­lice are ap­peal­ing for in­for­ma­tion about an ar­son at­tack on a white Audi A3 car.

The in­ci­dent hap­pened around 12.45am on the morn­ing of Satur­day, April 22 on Hamil­ton Road, Cam­bus­lang. A break in oc­curred at Fratelli’s restau­rant, Glas­gow Road, Cam­bus­lang at 4.25am on Sun­day, April 23.

A quan­tity of cash was stolen and prop­erty dam­aged.

Any­one with in­for­ma­tion is urged to call Po­lice Scot­land 101 or Crimestop­pers on 0800555111. At about 6pm on Sun­day, April 23, a break in oc­curred in DH Al­lan, Bou­verie Street, Ruther­glen.

Po­lice are ap­peal­ing for wit­nesses as they in­ves­ti­gate the in­ci­dent. Two men were is­sued with fines fol­low­ing a stand up fight on Cam­bus­lang Main Street on Sun­day.

The pair, be­lieved to have been drink­ing at a lo­cal bar fol­low­ing the Old Firm game, caused the dis­tur­bance at about 9pm.

Po­lice were called to the scene and is­sued both men with £40 fixed penalty no­tices.
