A 39-year-old male has been reported to the procurator fiscal after a car crashed into a lamppost on Bankhead Road.

Police received a report of a car having struck a lamppost around 10.20pm on April 18.

The vehicle and driver were subsequent­ly traced, and the driver found to be over the prescribed alcohol limit.

A full report containing a number of charges will be submitted to the PF. A male was arrested after being found in possession of a quantity of white tablets thought to be diazepem.

The 33-year-old was stopped on Overton Street in Cambuslang at around 1am on Saturday, April 22.

A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal. Police officers discovered an air weapon at a property in Clyde Place in Cambuslang.

The weapon, which was found around 8pm on Sunday, April 23, had remained unregister­ed since the implementa­tion of the Air Weapons Act.

A 31-year-old male has been reported to the procurator fiscal. Police are appealing for informatio­n about an arson attack on a white Audi A3 car.

The incident happened around 12.45am on the morning of Saturday, April 22 on Hamilton Road, Cambuslang. A break in occurred at Fratelli’s restaurant, Glasgow Road, Cambuslang at 4.25am on Sunday, April 23.

A quantity of cash was stolen and property damaged.

Anyone with informatio­n is urged to call Police Scotland 101 or Crimestopp­ers on 0800555111. At about 6pm on Sunday, April 23, a break in occurred in DH Allan, Bouverie Street, Rutherglen.

Police are appealing for witnesses as they investigat­e the incident. Two men were issued with fines following a stand up fight on Cambuslang Main Street on Sunday.

The pair, believed to have been drinking at a local bar following the Old Firm game, caused the disturbanc­e at about 9pm.

Police were called to the scene and issued both men with £40 fixed penalty notices.
