Bright and bold... go for it!

Spring time is here, and can I get a “hallelujah?”

Spring/Summer 2017 is all about bright colours and bold prints and thanks to Peacocks in the Rutherglen Exchange shopping centre all of the latest styles are right on your doorstep.

To kick off my spring/summer looks I chose this stunning bardot dress. This style of dress is very versatile and great for all body shapes. With the flattering bardot neckline, it will hang over the body, hiding any unwanted bumps and elongating your figure. If you are feeling brave why not nip in the dress using a high waist belt? This will change the appearance of the dress turning it into more of a mini dress.

I matched this dress with a pair of brown suede peep toe ankle boots. These boots have cute tassles adding a little bohemian look to any outfit, and with its inside ankle zip these boots are extremely comfortable for ‘all day’ wear.

With the famous Coachella festival taking place last week I thought it appropriate to include a summer festival look. I matched a gorgeous printed kimono with a classic white vest and denim short look. On top of giving the overall look a splash of colour, the kimono takes your outfit from chic to bohemian, totally transforming your style. Kimonos are also a great option to pack away in your suitcase, they work as a good cover up in the sun and allow your skin to breathe through the light material. To glam up this outfit I paired with a pair of black suede peep toe ankle boots. If you are heading to a festival this year why not grab a pair of knee high socks and some flashy wellies.

These gorgeous cropped trousers add a fabulous blast of colour to a simple yet stylish outfit, and with the light material they will be perfect for those summer days to keep cool. This outfit can be worn casually or dressed up for a quirky office look. I paired this outfit with a pair of pale pink suede mule slip-ons. This style of sandal is making its way into all of our favourite high street shops this summer, and just like the rest of the outfit you can dress up, or dress down. These sandals are incredibly comfortable and a lot easier to walk around in than styles with straps and toe thongs. For an absolute steal at £8, this is a summer 2017 wardrobe essential.

Now if you are anything like me and prefer trousers to dresses, this gorgeous floral jumpsuit might just be that item you have been looking for. With wedding season now in full bloom you might find yourself scrambling through the shops for that perfect outfit. A jumpsuit is just as classy as a dress and with the right accessories you can really add the wow factor. This jumpsuit has two of this season’s most desirable styles included, the cold shoulder and wide leg trousers. This outfit falls beautifully over the body and includes a tie at the waist which all helps to flaunt your curves and waistline.

So, head over to Peacocks this season so you can be out with the drab and in with the fab!
