Let’s proudly support our football teams

Rutherglen Reformer - - News -

There is much to be proud about in Rutherglen and Cambuslang and we could be about to add our junior football teams to the list.

Not that Rutherglen Glencairn and Cambuslang Rangers have not been a source of pride before, but both are on the cusp of something special.

Glencairn could now be just a few matches away from promotion to the Superleague Premier Division - the top of the tree in junior football. They currently sit second in the table after a tremendous run over the past few months.

And Cambuslang Rangers remain top of the Central League First Division, with the Superleague in their sights.

Last week Cambuslang made a rallying call to local fans to come out and support them in their final home game of the season, and many of you responded.

Now it is Glencairn’s turn. They travel to Maryhill tonight, Wednesday, before lining up against Irvine Meadow in their final home league match of the season this coming Saturday.

They, too, need the help of the local population and it would be great to see them get a bumper crowd this Saturday.

Check out our sports section for all the reaction from both Glens and Lang and lets hope they both go on and get the job done over the next few weeks.
