Rutherglen Reformer - - Ward 11 :Rutherglen South -

I have been a foster carer for over 25 years and throughout that time I have been actively involved in my local community in various groups from residents’ associations to play schemes, housing forums and several others.

My time in these groups has given me first-hand experience of the priorities and concerns of people in my local area, particularly the issues we all face in these difficult times. I am standing for council because I want to do whatever I can to improve the lives of people in Rutherglen South and to build on the successes of South Lanarkshire Council and fight for the improvements we all want to see in our communities.

We must continue to invest in our local area and that is why, as a Labour and Co-operative councillor, I will stand against continued cuts to South Lanarkshire Council’s budget and fight for fairer funding for communities.
