Gerard Killen
Labour
I have been a councillor for the last four years and have run a family business for nine years.
In my time as a councillor, I have seen first-hand the positive difference a Labour council can make to lives. The UK and Scottish governments do not respect local government, they believe we exist to administer their cuts. Despite this, South Lanarkshire Council under Labour has continued investing in education, building homes, renewing roads, protecting social care and paying the living wage.
I am seeking re-election because I am proud of Labour’s record in South Lanarkshire and I feel more strongly than ever about empowering communities and investing in our future. My primary concern is good local services and supporting residents and businesses in the community I have lived in for most of my life. If you elect me, you will have a champion for our town and for your family.
