Burnside seniors had mixed fortunes when one team tasted victory and the other defeat this week.

The winning team consisted of Dougie Johnston, Andy McMillan, Isa Couper and was skipped by Jim Gibson.

The Monday night aggregate game saw Jim Gibson victorious again when he led the team of Ernie Worrall, Danny Bruce and Eddie Nairn to a convincing victory.

The agreement between Burnside Bowling Club and Rutherglen Tennis Club has now been finalised and work to upgrade the tennis courts is due to start within the next couple of weeks. Everyone at the club looks forward to welcoming the new faces once work is completed.

Six full rinks were due to visit Kirkhill Bowling Club yesterday, Tuesday, for the clubs’ annual game.

On Saturday Burnside will be welcoming Cambuslang Bowling Club for the usual yearly joust on the bowling green. This will no doubt be followed by great interaction and social networking within the bar area.
