Rutherglen Bowling Club ladies had their opening day last month.
Ladies president Mary Hamilton welcomed guests from local clubs and the R&D ladies representative May Hay.
The weather was kind to the ladies allowing them to play quite a few ends. The sweepstake was won by Margaret Dreenan (Croftfoot BC), Chris Holland (Kingswood BC) and Betty Duckett from Rutherglen.
The club held the Jimmy Reid Triples competition on Saturday, sponsored by George S Munn Funeral Directors.
Joe Murray represented the sponsors and presented the winners, runners-up and beaten semi-finalists with their prizes.
The winners were Stephen Fyfe, Alex MacLean and Billy Ross who beat Neil McAllister, John Houston and Alan Robinson six shots to five in a thrilling six- end final.
The North Eastern league gets underway this Friday against Parkhead BC.
The first Monday evening aggregate game was won by Gil Morgan and Norman King.
