Drink drivers nabbed
Two drivers in Rutherglen and Cambuslang are facing bans and a criminal record after being nabbed sozzled behind the wheel within hours of each other.
The first incident took place at 5.30pm on Saturday, May 6 when a vehicle was spotted driving in an erratic manner by cops on Limeside Avenue.
The 55-year-old female driver was found to be over the limit and has been reported to the procurator fiscal.
Just two hours later officers stopped a 35-year-old male on Greenlees Gardens in Cambuslang.
He was also found to be in excess of the legal limit and has also been reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
The pair were caught as the force revealed a crackdown on drink/drug driving across the area.
Statistics show road users in Scotland are at their highest risk of being killed or seriously injured due to the driver being under the influence of alcohol or drugs at this time of year.
Elsewhere over the weekend, a A 56-year-old man was due to appear from custody at Glasgow Sheriff Court after allegedly being found in possession of a knife in a pub on Rutherglen Main Street at around 8.30pm on Friday, May 5.
