Levante lifts off
Maserati is tapping in to some Ferrari fury for its first luxury SUV, the Levante.
Already available with a diesel powerplant, the model is now up for grabs with a 430bhp 3.0-litre V6 twin turbo petrol engine built by Ferrari that boasts a top speed of 164mph and 0– 62mph in just 5.2 seconds.
The petrol unit joins the 275bhp, 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel powertrain already available on the Levante and includes active air suspension as standard, giving the SUV the lowest centre of gravity in its class.
Maserati North Europe manager Peter Denton said: “Following the launch of the diesel-powered Levante in the UK, it became clear there is also a demand for the luxury SUV in a petrolpowered version.”
The Levante S starts at £70,755 and will be available in the UK from September.
