Sun­day’s fi­nal dayof work­son rail­way­line

Train pas­sen­gers in Ruther­glen and Cam­bus­lang have one more Sun­day of en­gi­neer­ing works that could af­fect jour­neys to en­dure.

Work has al­ready been tak­ing place be­tween Glas­gow Cen­tral and Mother­well over the past three weeks.

This Sun­day, May 21, buses will re­place trains on all ser­vices be­tween Glas­gow Cen­tral and Mother­well.

Trains be­tween Glas­gow Cen­tral and La­nark will be di­verted via Cath­cart mak­ing jour­ney times longer.

On Bal­loch – Larkhall ser­vices, trains will run be­tween Bal­loch and Ruther­glen with buses be­tween Bridgeton and Larkhall.

Mil­ngavie – Mother­well trains will be di­verted via Whif­flet and buses will run be­tween Bridgeton and Mother­well via Hamil­ton.

Fi­nally, trains on the New­ton line leav­ing at 36 min­utes past the hour from Glas­gow will be ex­tended to Larkhall via Hamil­ton, while trains at nine min­utes past will start back from Larkhall and run to Glas­gow via Hamil­ton.

ScotRail is warn­ing peo­ple to plan ahead and check their jour­ney on their app or at www.scotrail.co.uk.

A ScotRail Al­liance spokesman said: “These are vi­tal works and we are do­ing ev­ery­thing we can to keep our cus­tomers mov­ing dur­ing them.”
