Church welcomes newRev

Rutherglen Reformer - - General Election -

Rutherglen West and Wardlawhill Parish Church will have their new minister, Rev Malcolm Cuthbertson, inducted by the Moderator of Glasgow Presbytery, Rev Jan Roddick, on Thursday, May 18.

Rev Cuthbertson left his previous charge of Mure Memorial church in linkage with Baillieston St Andrews to move to Rutherglen with the new challenges involved in a priority area.

Following the induction a social will be held in the church halls and musical entertainment will be provided by an exciting new duo, Darian and Callum on piano and saxophone.

Both are pupils at Stonelaw High School and Darian has played the church organ on an occasion when the normal organist has been on holiday.

Rutherglen West and Wardlawhill has been without a minister since Rev Jack Drummond retired over five years ago.

The congregation said goodbye to John Nicolson who has been their much-loved and respected preacher for the past two and a half years.
