Po­lice as­sault charge

A Ruther­glen teenager has been ac­cused of at­tempt­ing to spit on po­lice of­fi­cers on New Year’s Day.

Con­nor Brock, 19, is claimed to have shouted, swore, ut­tered threats of vi­o­lence and acted in an ag­gres­sive man­ner at Bute Road on Jan­uary 1, 2016.

He is fur­ther charged with as­sault­ing a sergeant in the ex­e­cu­tion of his duty, by at­tempt­ing to spit on him.

Brock, of Bute Road, is also ac­cused of at­tempt­ing to strike a po­lice con­sta­ble on the body and spit­ting on him.

The teenager, who will stand trial on Septem­ber 27, is also claimed to have made off from the of­fi­cers once they in­formed him he was be­ing ar­rested, strug­gled with him and tensed his body to avoid be­ing hand­cuffed.
