An al­leged thiev­ing duo have ap­peared in court charged with steal­ing from cars parked in Cam­bus­lang in the run up to Christ­mas.

John Mills, 56, and Jade Bruen, 28, are charged with steal­ing an elec­tri­cal item from an un­locked car parked in Bruce Av­enue some­time be­tween De­cem­ber 11 and the fol­low­ing day.

Mills is also charged with han­dling stolen goods.

These in­clude cloth­ing, elec­tri­cal items, sports equip­ment, house­hold items, car ac­ces­sories, pa­per­work and cos­met­ics, also be­lieved to be taken from cars.

It is al­leged Mills re­set these goods at his home ad­dress on Langcroft Av­enue on Jan­uary 6, 2017.

Bruen is fur­ther charged with be­ing in pos­ses­sion of class A drug di­amor­phine with in­tent to sup­ply at Langcroft Av­enue on Jan­uary 6.

From Kirk­con­nel Drive in Ruther­glen, Bruen and coac­cused Mills are al­leged to have com­mit­ted these crimes whilst on bail.

The pair pleaded not guilty to all charges when they ap­peared at Glas­gow Sher­iff Court on May 17.

They will re­turn to stand trial on Oc­to­ber 16.
