Local clubs celebrate top players
Cambuslang Rangers and Rutherglen Glencairn held their annual Player of the Year awards earlier this month.
Midfielder Dale Simeon scooped three awards at The Lang’s ceremony, while Tony Fraser bagged two prizes.
Commenting on an entertaining night at Sweeper Lounge Bar , an evening which saw Scottish boxing legend Willie Limond present some of the trophies, Cambuslang boss Paul McColl said:“It was a great night. Dale has been exceptional this season.
“For a 21-year-old to have scored 26 goals in his first season of junior football is phenomenal.
“I’m really pleased for him. We’ll try to keep all our best players but you don’t want to stand in the way and hold boys back.”
Commenting on The Glens award night at the Glencairn Venue, bos Willie Harvey said:“It was a tremendous turn out. It was great to see the first team and the under 21s mixing together.
“Tony has been outstanding this season.”
