Road and train users in Rutherglen are to expect delays next month as a busy street is set to close for five days.
The A749 Farmeloan Road will close between Victoria Road and Rutherglen Links from 7am on Monday, July 3 till 23.59pm on Friday, July 7.
Network Rail are to carry out the works to repair the bridge joints on the road surface.
A spokesman said: “We are currently working to install stanchions to support new overhead line structures and signal posts between Rutherglen and Polmadie. This work can only be safely carried out when no trains are running and involves some night-time working.
“We understand the inconvenience this may cause some residents and are committed to delivering the work as quickly as possible.”
