No re-examination of Gilbertfield plan

Rutherglen Reformer - - Housing -

which the certified planning application states 237 units.

They say a promise for affordable housing on the site does not meet the requirements of the local development plan.

They also said the promise of affordable housing on the site restricts the council’s ability to determine the subsequent planning application fairly.

Stephen told the Reformer: “This latest correspondence from the Scottish Government in these planning matters, really only reflects a continuation of what seems like a system actually failing existing communities and only further highlights that it’s a system in need of a serious shake up.

“My impression is that the system is set up in such a way that community views and concerns hold no validity in the process and are nothing more than a gesture to make it appear that communities are engaged in these matters.

“The actual concerning issues that will effect communities and future residents, continue to be and remain ignored or glossed over.”
