Rutherglen Reformer - - General Election -

At this election we have the opportunity of a fresh start for Rutherglen and Hamilton West.

Only Labour can beat the SNP here and as your MP I will be a champion for our area, prioritising you and your family, not campaigning for a second divisive independence referendum.

Tory and SNP austerity is not working.

I will fight to stop cuts to our public services and introduce fairer tax plans to ensure there are millions more to spend on services in Scotland, creating more jobs and lifting people in our area out of poverty.

As your MP I will stand up for workers and back Labour’s plans to increase the minimum wage to a real living wage of £10 per hour. I will support the creation of a Scottish Investment Bank with £20 billion of funds available for local projects and small businesses in Scotland.

I will stand up for commuters in Rutherglen and Hamilton West, let down by unreliable and expensive rail services, by supporting Labour’s plans to bring our railways back into public ownership.

I will fight to ensure women affected by Tory pension changes get the financial help they need and to scrap the abhorrent Tory rape clause.

As your MP I will always stand up for the many, not the few.

Don’t elect a pale imitation. With one vote for me you can reject SNP division and help to replace this cruel Tory government with one that cares about the lives of working people.

I will stand up for the many, not the few
