Help with adop­tion

Families, cou­ples and in­di­vid­u­als think­ing of adopt­ing a child are be­ing in­vited to an in­for­ma­tion event next week.

Held in South La­nark­shire Coun­cil head­quar­ters, the event will give peo­ple the chance to speak to oth­ers who have al­ready adopted and learn more about the process.

The event is part of the coun­cil’s Find 40 cam­paign which seeks to match 40 chil­dren with their adop­tive families within the next year.

Jan Strain, South La­nark­shire Coun­cil’s fos­ter­ing and adop­tion man­ager, said:“This event pro­vides the per­fect op­por­tu­nity for any­one who is in­ter­ested in adopt­ing now or in the fu­ture to find out more in an in­for­mal and re­laxed way.

“We will be avail­able to an­swer any ques­tions or queries and give ad­vice on how to pro­ceed with any enquiries.

“We are in des­per­ate need of new adop­tive families in South La­nark­shire and we are look­ing for any­one who is in­ter­ested to drop in and meet the team.”

The open evening is be­ing held in Com­mit­tee Room 2 in South La­nark­shire Coun­cil head quar­ters, Al­mada Street Hamil­ton be­tween 5pm and 8pm on Wed­nes­day, June 14.
