Help with adoption
Families, couples and individuals thinking of adopting a child are being invited to an information event next week.
Held in South Lanarkshire Council headquarters, the event will give people the chance to speak to others who have already adopted and learn more about the process.
The event is part of the council’s Find 40 campaign which seeks to match 40 children with their adoptive families within the next year.
Jan Strain, South Lanarkshire Council’s fostering and adoption manager, said:“This event provides the perfect opportunity for anyone who is interested in adopting now or in the future to find out more in an informal and relaxed way.
“We will be available to answer any questions or queries and give advice on how to proceed with any enquiries.
“We are in desperate need of new adoptive families in South Lanarkshire and we are looking for anyone who is interested to drop in and meet the team.”
The open evening is being held in Committee Room 2 in South Lanarkshire Council head quarters, Almada Street Hamilton between 5pm and 8pm on Wednesday, June 14.
