Charity ball helps boost funds for Malawi kids
A Rutherglen charity have helped raise funds for youngsters in Malawi thanks to a charity ball.
Classrooms For Malawi raised a fantastic £ £22,716 by holding the event at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow.
The night attracted over 400 people and some exciting raffle and auction prizes were bagged by several lucky guests.
These included a weekend’s stay at the Hilton Amsterdam, famous for John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s 1969 ‘bed-in for peace, a brand new Celtic top signed by the current team and even a bottle of Malawi gin.
The charity’s support officer Gemma Love said: “Entertainment by local wedding and events band the Upbeats was enjoyed by all with the band putting on a great ceilidh set.
“The unbelievable generosity of guests will allow the charity to continue the amazing work they do across Malawi!
