Lan­de­mer art­con­test win­ners re­vealed

Pupils at Ruther­glen schools showed their artis­tic side in the 2017 Lan­de­mer art competition.

The con­test was once again spon­sored by the Ruther­glen and Cam­bus­lang Housing As­so­ci­a­tion.

This year’s theme was Le­goland and the win­ners were: Pre-school 1. Freya Gough, Stonelaw Preschool.

3. Sophia Crowther, Stonelaw Preschool. Pri­mary one to pri­mary three 1. Mah­noor Farhan, Hall­side Pri­mary. 2. Syke New­lands, Burgh Pri­mary. Pri­mary four to pri­mary five 1. Sa­haib Parvez, St Charles Pri­mary.

2. Aleena Parvez, St Charles Pri­mary. 3. Emily Paul, Calder­wood Pri­mary. Pri­mary six to seven 1. Zahra Akram, Burgh Pri­mary. 2. Mia Bol­land, Calder­wood Pri­mary. Best overall Carissa Bar­rett, Calder­wood Pri­mary.

Lan­de­mer sec­re­tary Ian Dun­can said: “The stan­dard of en­tries was ex­tremely high this year and the judges took a con­sid­er­able time com­ing to de­ci­sions but it was a plea­sure to see so many ex­cel­lent en­tries.”
