Tug towing will pull in crowds
Richmond Park Model Boat Club will host Scotland’s only tug towing event on Sunday, June 11.
The event attracts competitive teams from England and Wales and the club have built the largest set of docks in the country especially for this weekend.
The home team’s tug is named after former member, Peter Shepherd.
Teams are required to tow their boat around a course with their radio controlled tugs, without hitting anything.
Modellers can spend hours on the smallest of details, with the tugs effectively working replicas of the real thing.
With water levels in the pond at a low level, the race is wide open.
A tombola will also take place while young and old can enjoy a shot on the water themselves with the popular Hands on TUGGZ.
