To say too much about M. Night Shyamalan’s latest – and best since Unbreakable – would be letting the cat out of the bag.

Go in blind and you’ll be treated to a terrific tale bursting with creativity that ends in a killer twist.

James McAvoy is outstanding as the troubled lead diagnosed with 23 distinct personalities.

He embodies each personality shown with impressive individual characteristics, culminating in an astonishing display of physicality.

Anya Taylor-Joy is in fine form too, although I’m not sure her character’s harrowing back story was necessary.

It’s a credit to Shyamalan’s script that you’re never sure which direction it’s going in.
