A special event to celebrate community, fun, friendship and Father’s Day is being held in Overtoun Park on Sunday.
Dubbed the Big Lunch, the event - organised by Grow 73 - encourages people to come together to eat and share food in a community space.
There will be activities for children including a storytelling session from Amanda Edminston from Botanica Fabula, an arts and crafts session and seed bomb making.
There will also be live music from the Mairs Family Band.
The Big Lunch is a simple idea from the Eden Project. Its aim is to get as many people as possible across the whole of the UK to have lunch with their neighbours and/ or the wider community annually on a Sunday in June in a simple act of community, friendship and fun.
People taking part are asked to bring their own lunch, food to share if they want to, table and chairs, or a picnic blanket if possible; organisers will have a limited number of tables and chairs available.
The free event gets underway at 1pm weather permitting.
