Spiders mourn Ronnie
Queen’s Park supporters have paid tribute to former first team goalkeeper Ronnie Cant who died earlier this week.
The ex-shotstopper for the Spiders had recently returned to the Hampden Park club to help train the younger keepers.
Queen’s confirmed Ronnie’s passing on June 9 and a statement on t he club website said: “It is with deep regret that the club has learned of the death of Ronnie Cant.
“He will be sadly missed at Queen’s Park and our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.”
Fans quickly took to social media to express their condolences.
Andrew Bryan said: “Oh my God I’ve known Ronnie since I was about seven when he played in goal for Millport. I only spoke to him about five weeks ago.”
Laura Jane McGuire said: “Extremely sad news! Our family and Ryan send our condolences to Ronnie’s family at a difficult time.”
