Po­lice are ap­peal­ing for wit­nesses af­ter a fe­male de­liv­ery driver was at­tacked and dragged along the ground in Ruther­glen.

The woman was on her way to de­liver pizza near to Lid­doch Way on May 30 when she was ap­proached by two teenage boys who asked her for the time.

Po­lice are ap­peal­ing for wit­nesses af­ter a fe­male de­liv­ery driver was at­tacked and dragged along the ground in Ruther­glen.

The woman was on her way to de­liver pizza near to Lid­doch Way at around 7.45pm when she was ap­proached by two teenage boys who asked her for the time.

Af­ter speak­ing briefly to them, the woman went to walk away when her de­liv­ery bag was grabbed from be­hind and she was pulled to the ground by one the boys. She was then dragged along the ground for a dis­tance be­fore let­ting go of the bag con­tain­ing the piz­zas as she feared she would be as­saulted.

Po­lice say the woman has been left “badly shaken” by the in­ci­dent.

The sus­pects are both de­scribed as white males aged be­tween 12 and 14 years old. Both are of slim build and were wear­ing dark cloth­ing.

The boy who dragged the woman to the ground was wear­ing a black hooded top with the hood up.
