Duo sign on dotted line at Glencairn
Rutherglen Glencairn have added a potent striker and a new goalkeeper to their squad for the upcoming season.
Forward Graham Boyd and shotstopper Jack Baker, 27, have penned deals with the Celsius Stadium outfit for the 2017/18 campaign.
Boyd, who turns 25 next week, joins the Glens from fellow Super First Division side Irvine Meadow after netting nine goals in 20 appearances.
Goalkeeper Baker arrives in Rutherglen from Maryhill.
Commenting on the double swoop, manager Willie Harvey said: “Graham is someone we’ve been after for a long time. He was a product of the Tower Hearts under 21s so we’ve known about him since back then.
“He’s been at Kilbirnie and Ardrossan and every time he’s moved I’ve just been two steps behind him. But a few of the guys in the team are friendly with him so we’ve managed to get the deal done. He’s about 6ft 2in but he’s not the type of player you lump the ball up to. He’s got good strength and is good with the ball at his feet.
“Jack is around 6ft 3in and is also someone who has been on our radar. He’s originally from Liverpool and has played non-league English football.”
