Chance tohelp Burnside bloom

Rutherglen Reformer - - News -

Burnside In Bloom is needing new volunteers to help them out.

The group is looking for people to help water the plants at Burnside train station.

Burnside In Bloom members are dedicated to improving the environment of Burnside though planting flowers and greenery.

One of their projects has involved planting greenery and trying to improve the standard of the train station in Burnside.

Members have also sought to clean up the embankment there.

The group posted on Facebook: “We do not have enough people to water the station.

“If 14 people volunteered then each person would only need to spend about one hour, once a fortnight.

“In the absence of further volunteers we will need to remove the barrels and leave ‘adopt a station’, meaning Burnside will never gain an outstanding score again (from the Keep Scotland Beautiful assessors).
