Packed pro­gramme for sum­mer break

Univer­sal Con­nec­tions in Ruther­glen has an ex­ten­sive sum­mer pro­gramme to keep chil­dren busy through­out the sum­mer hol­i­days.

The cen­tre on Burn­hill Street will be open six days a week through­out the hol­i­days, start­ing from to­day, Wed­nes­day.

Any­one of sec­ondary school age, in­clud­ing those mak­ing the move from P7, can sign up ei­ther to­day or to­mor­row.

The agenda in­cludes nu­mer­ous trips to places in­clud­ing Black­pool, Mill­port, the Time Cap­sule, bowl­ing, roller disco, Blair Drum­mond Sa­fari Park, Loch Lomond and Ed­in­burgh Dun­geons.

A range of ac­tiv­i­ties will also be on of­fer in­clud­ing cook­ery, arts and crafts, IT and games con­soles.

Two events are also open to pri­mary school chil­dren if they are ac­com­pa­nied by an adult. Ma­gi­cian Gary Dunn will per­form on Mon­day, July 31, and Tails and Scales pay a visit with their ex­otic crea­tures on Au­gust 7. The open­ing hours will be: Mon­day - 10.30am - 4.30pm, cen­tre­based ac­tiv­i­ties; 6.30-9pm, The M Fac­tor.

Tues­day - 10.30am - 4.30pm, trips; 6-9pm Gee Gee’s (a girls group).

Wed­nes­day - 10.30am - 4pm, cen­tre­based or trips on the train; 5-9pm, young car­ers. Thurs­day - 10.30am - 4.30pm, trips. Fri­day - 2-4.30pm, cen­tre-based ac­tiv­i­ties; 6-9pm Fri­day night fun.

Satur­day - 10.30am - 4.30pm, all ages drop-in.
