McRobbie brings his experience to Lang
Cambuslang Rangers have added experience to their squad for next season with two ex-seniors putting pen to paper this week.
Ex-Glencairn and Albion Rovers striker Callum McRobbie and Clyde defender Chris Smith are among half a dozen players to join Paul McColl’s revolution while several have exited Somervell.
Former Gartcairn forward Jordan Love, Paul Hewitt of Johnston Burgh and Cammy Lawson, who played over 100 games for Lanark United, have also signed with the Lang for their 2017/18 campaign.
Captain Robert Halliday, Callum Nolan, Mark Bishop and George Scott have left the club.
Pre-season started for Cambuslang on Saturday and manager Paul McColl was pleased to see some new faces.
Commenting on his most recent signing Callum McRobbie, he said:“He used to play for The Glens and then he was at Cumnock Juniors last year. He wanted to move a bit closer to home and Cumnock wanted to keep him so I’m glad we’ve got him.
“We’ve got a few strikers but Callum can play on the wing or just in behind the front man.”
