Man reported after station attack
A man has been reported to the procurator fiscal following Friday’s assault at Cambuslang Train Station.
The 25-year-old from Rutherglen was found by police who released an appeal for information following the attack, which took place during morning rush hour. It saw a man, believed to be in his 40s, sustain serious injuries to his face.
He was taken to hospital for treatment for the injuries, which were initially believed to be consistent with a stabbing.
However, after being examined at hospital, it was determined that the victim had not been stabbed but had received a facial injury after hitting his head.
British Transport Police head earlier released a statement asking for people in the station at 9am, or those passing by, to come forward. Officers were also keen to speak to anyone who may have seen an altercation on Queens Avenue in Cambuslang shortly before the train station incident involving a man on foot and an occupant of a taxi.
