Funday outfor thekids

Rutherglen Reformer - - News -

The Castlemilk fun day lived up to all the chat - and 700 happy weans will testify to that.

Children and their parents enjoyed a grand day out as a number of events were held at the Braes Shopping Centre last week.

Opened by Baillie Glenn Elder at the community centre, a mini ferris wheel, a large inflatable slide and castle were among the activities on offer.

An army display by the soldiers of the 6 Scots Regiment, with an information tent and a military transport vehicle, proved to be popular while many descended on the bungee trampolines and 20-stall craft market.

Pony Rides were another popular attraction and children were seen sporting painted faces courtesy of the Jeely Piece Club.

A music tent run by the Castlemilk Youth Project (CYC), featuring superb young singers Matthew Gibb and Robin Ashcroft, went down a treat also.
