Pub night for Piotr
A Rutherglen pub will hold a fundraising night this Saturday in aid of the Rutherglen man injured in the Manchester terror attack.
Piotr Chylewska, 44, was left with severe injuries to his left eye and right leg after being hit by shrapnel from the blast on May 22.
He had been waiting for his wife and daughter .
He endured several operations and was finally allowed home two weeks ago.
The event will be held on July 8 in The Fairways pub, yards from where Piotr lives with his wife Ewa and two children Kasper, 15, and Amelia, 12.
It will include a dance, auction and raffle, while traditional Polish beers and food are a nod to the family’s Polish roots.
Manager Collette McAllister said: “Piotr always worked day and night to provide for his family.
“It’s sad what has happened. I just want this to be a big success for them.”
All profits raised in the bar will be donated to the Chylewska family, as will money raised via the raffle and auction.
Businesses that want to donate to the raffle or auction can contact The Fairways on 07719 886071.
