Sheriff defers sentence

A man convicted of exposing his penis in a public place has until next year to prove he can be of good behaviour.

Last month, Frederick Halliday admitted committing the act of public indecency in Motherwell’s Bellshill Road on May 28 last year.

He also pleaded guilty to giving police officers a fake name and intending to pervert the course of justice.

Halliday, 26, appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court last Thursday for sentencing on the matter.

However, Sheriff David Bicket decided to defer sentence on Halliday, of Overlee Avenue, Rutherglen, until July 19 next year in order for him to prove he could be of good behaviour.
