Neymar move shows football has gone mad
Locals reckon players are paid too much
It is the biggest transfer in football history – and has prompted claims that the sport has gone mad.

paying so much.”
Alex Glaspar said: “It puts me off football. No player is worth that. I don’t even think a player is worth £50m.”
Rita Stewart said: “I think it’s atrocious. Footballers shouldn’t get paid more than surgeons who have studied all their life to help people. Sometimes they aren’t very good role models either. I think it’s very misplaced.”
Eric McBride said: “Nobody is worth that, and definitely not Neymar.
“Maybe Messi is good enough for that, but, although I wished Neymar played for Scotland, he’s not worth £200m. And what about the next good player that comes along? How much will he be worth? You’ll get ordinary players saying they’re worth £80m.”
