Rovers drawn away

Ruther­glen Rovers have been handed an away tie in the first round of the Sun­day ama­teur foot­ball Scot­tish Cup.

The side from the Burgh, who fin­ished tenth in the Sun­day Cen­tral AFL’s Divi­sion 1 last sea­son, will play Bull­frog AFC next month.

Mean­while, Cambuslang Foot­ball Academy re­ceived a bye to the next round.

Ama­teur foot­ball heavy­weights Castlemilk Dy­namo are due to play away to Bud­hill United AFC while Castlemilk United host Polo­nia Glas­gow.

Min­nows Croftfoot were awarded a home tie with Gor­bals United and new boys Ruther­glen Burgh will en­joy a short trip to La­nark United.

Spring­hall Spar­tans will hope to bet­ter their cup per­for­mance af­ter reach­ing the fourth round last time out. They were drawn with Tor­bothie Rose.

All ties are sched­uled for Sun­day, Septem­ber 3, 2017.

The clubs are cur­rently in the process of com­pet­ing in the qual­i­fy­ing stage for each of the leagues.

Re­sults in each of their three group matches will de­ter­mine what divi­sion they will play in this sea­son.
