A 39 year-old, who al­legedly re­fused to name the driver of his car after it had been in­volved in a traf­fic of­fence, has ap­peared in court.

James Wel­don is ac­cused of fail­ing to pro­vide in­for­ma­tion when re­quested by a po­lice of­fi­cer on Oc­to­ber 25, 2016.

The of­fi­cer at­tended his home ad­dress on Lime­side Drive, Ruther­glen fol­low­ing the of­fence which al­legedly oc­curred ear­lier that day in Glas­gow.

He is fur­ther charged with be­ing in charge of a ve­hi­cle while un­fit to drive through drink and drugs.

Wel­don de­nied the charges when he ap­peared at Glas­gow Sher­iff Court on Au­gust 22 and will re­turn for trial on September 19.
