Castlemilk’s old­est sur­viv­ing build­ing is throw­ing its doors open to the pub­lic this week.

Castlemilk sta­bles is one of over 200 venues across Glas­gow tak­ing part in the city’s open doors fes­ti­val through­out Septem­ber.

Vis­i­tors can view the mag­nif­i­cent 15 foot high fire­place that once graced the now de­mol­ished Castlemilk House and learn about the Stu­art fam­ily and their love of horses on a visit to the beau­ti­ful re­stored for­mer sta­bles block.

The sta­bles will be open to­day, Wed­nes­day, from 2-5pm with tours at 2.30pm, 3.30pm and 4.30pm.

On Thurs­day it is open from 5-7pm with tours at 5.30pm and 6.30pm.

Fi­nally, on Satur­day, the sta­bles will be open from 10am un­til 4pm with tours at 10.30am, 11.30am, 12.30pm, 1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm.

All tours last 30 min­utes. Meet at the fire­place.
