Get a look inside stables
Castlemilk’s oldest surviving building is throwing its doors open to the public this week.
Castlemilk stables is one of over 200 venues across Glasgow taking part in the city’s open doors festival throughout September.
Visitors can view the magnificent 15 foot high fireplace that once graced the now demolished Castlemilk House and learn about the Stuart family and their love of horses on a visit to the beautiful restored former stables block.
The stables will be open today, Wednesday, from 2-5pm with tours at 2.30pm, 3.30pm and 4.30pm.
On Thursday it is open from 5-7pm with tours at 5.30pm and 6.30pm.
Finally, on Saturday, the stables will be open from 10am until 4pm with tours at 10.30am, 11.30am, 12.30pm, 1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm.
All tours last 30 minutes. Meet at the fireplace.
