Letter Reopen head in police here base pls
Wing 2 It is obviously good news that Police Scotland has decided to keep Cambuslang Police Station open.
But one wonders if there is really any point.
After all, the facility is closed to the public and is, we are told, used only sparingly by detectives.
The Reformer has run several stories about a new policing model in Rutherglen and Cambuslang and it seems to be aimed toward a more community-focused force.
But that is completely undermined by the fact that large sections of the community no longer have facilities they can simply walk in to if they want to speak to an officer.
If Police Scotland are serious about community policing they could start by reopening the Cambuslang station to the public. Anne McLaughlin Rutherglen
