A last des­per­ate ap­peal for fund­ing was made to make sure Ruther­glen would con­tinue to be cov­ered by CCTV.

A vi­tal bus ser­vice link­ing ar­eas of Ruther­glen with the Vic­to­ria Hos­pi­tal was set to have its route changed so it would no longer stop at the fa­cil­ity just a week af­ter be­ing spared the axe.

Plans to re­struc­ture the Burn­side coun­cil ward were pro­vi­sion­ally adopted.
