Cambuslang Football Academy 2005s are preparing to continue their unbeaten start to the season as they gear up for the fourth round of the Scottish Cup.

The local lads take on Lanark’s Kirkfield after beating Musselburgh Windsor 4-2 in the previous stage.

Their upcoming match is set to be played at Vale of Clyde Juniors’Fullarton Park Stadium which has got the players and coaching staff even more excited.

Coach Alan McIntosh, who started the team up three years ago, told the Reformer:“We’re looking forward to it.

“We are doing really well in the league. We’ve played eight games and only drawn once so we’re confident.

“We’re playing at Vale of Clyde’s ground too which is good because it can give the boys a bit of a lift the fact they’re playing in a stadium. It will enhance their experience too.”

Cambuslang play in the Paisley and District third division and this is their first season at 11-a -side football.

Alan revealed the club’s main aim was to win their division and progress up the leagues but a cup run would be a great added bonus.

He added:“I’ve definitely seen improvements and we have some really good players there.”

The cup tie on Saturday, November 18 will kick off at 10am at Fullarton Park, G32 8LN.
