Robis backwith hisnew show

Rutherglen Reformer - - News -

Rutherglen playwright Rob Drummond has written a new play for Glasgow venue Oran Mor’s popular A Play, A Pie and A Pint lunchtime theatre series.

Eulogy will be performed from April 16 to 21.

It is centred around the death of a man called Sandy, who six years previously ruined his daughter’s wedding day with a top table speech that laid bare the family shortcomings once and for all.

Now it is time to witness his memorial service, where his life will be remembered, commemorated and eulogised.

Being a meticulous planner he has left instructions for the ceremony to be conducted as he would have wanted, meaning there will be both tears and laughter, but will everything go smoothly this time?

For the theatre Rob has previously climbed into the wrestling ring, performed the bullet catch magic trick and adapted the Broons, among other shows.

Tickets for Eulogy can be purchased online at playp or from Oran Mor in person. Tickets are £12.50 during the week or £14 for the Saturday show.

Eastfield Heart and Stroke Club has started up again after their Christmas break. The group, which has been going for 30 years, meet every Tuesday at Eastfield Community Centre from 1-3pm. They are currently on the lookout for new members, especially female members. Here they are pictured enjoying their Christmas lunch back in December.
