They did not need Mary Berry to know there was some good cook­ing at Stonelaw Parish Church re­cently.

The church was hold­ing their bake-off event, with parish­ioners whip­ping up a col­lec­tion of de­li­cious cakes.

All the pro­ceeds from the day went to­ward the Cam­bus­lang and Ruther­glen Rea­chout Trust.

The Ruther­glen Reformer Sil­ver Salver for the best in the show was awarded to Yvonne Barr for her Le­mon Vic­to­ria Sand­wich, which the judges said tasted amaz­ing.
