The Cam­bus­lang and Ruther­glen Rea­chout Trust is look­ing for a part-time youth and schools worker.

The salary will be be­tween £18,000 and £22,000 p.a. (pro-rata), de­pend­ing on ex­pe­ri­ence.

Clos­ing date for ap­pli­ca­tions is Fe­bru­ary 28, 2018. Ruther­glen West and Ward­lawhill Church’s friend­ship cafe runs every Tues­day from 10am un­til noon.

The Tues­day Club has re­sumed meet­ing every Tues­day in the Hamil­ton Road hall. Fern­hill and Cathkin Church is con­tin­u­ing to cre­ate new or­gan­i­sa­tions for the con­gre­ga­tion, in­clud­ing the knit­ting and nat­ter­ing club and the fort­nightly crafts and cof­fee club.

The Fit­ness Fol­lies keep fit class meets every Wed­nes­day at 10.30am. The pop­u­lar Messy Church event at Ruther­glen Bap­tist Com­mu­nity Church is held on the third Satur­day of each month (ex­clud­ing July and Au­gust).

The aim is to have fun ex­plor­ing a bible theme through cre­ativ­ity, games and sto­ries, and to en­joy build­ing re­la­tion­ships by shar­ing a meal to­gether.

A men’s shed has started up in Ruther­glen Bap­tist Com­mu­nity Church.

The ob­jec­tive of men’s shed is to give men who have time on their hands a place to meet.

Ruther­glen Old Parish Church is open every Thurs­day be­tween noon and 2pm for a pe­riod of re­flec­tion known as Thought­ful Thurs­day.

There is also the op­por­tu­nity to en­joy fel­low­ship over tea/ cof­fee and bis­cuits.

Any­one is wel­come to bring in their lunch and join with oth­ers in friendly chat in the church hall. Re­fresh runs every Fri­day at Croft­foot Parish Church from 2-4pm.

It has a num­ber of ac­tiv­i­ties from hand mas­sage to play­ing pool. Ruther­glen’s Sal­va­tion Army has a host of events go­ing on, in­clud­ing tod­dler groups, the jam club and singing groups.

It also hosts Lunch at the Croft on the first Fri­day of the month from 11.30am to 1.30pm.

En­try is £1.50. Flem­ing­ton Hall­side Church hosts a com­mu­nity cafe each Thurs­day from noon un­til 2pm.

The women’s guild meets on Wed­nes­days at 7pm and friendly hour for the el­derly takes place on Thurs­day after­noons at 2pm. Stonelaw Church’s Cafe @ The Meet­ing Place is open Mon­day to Satur­day from 10.30am un­til 2.30pm.

Tea and cof­fee is avail­able, along with home bak­ing and a sec­ond-hand book stall. St Oswald’s Epis­co­pal Church in King’s Park has an­nounced de­tails of events at the church.

Mon­day sees Kalei­do­scope held, of­fer­ing a play space for chil­dren liv­ing with autism and their fam­i­lies from 6.30pm un­til 8pm.

On Tues­day there is com­mu­nity yoga, with en­try cost­ing £3 and last­ing from 7pm un­til 8pm.

All abil­i­ties are wel­come.

Wed­nes­day sees prayer space at 10am, giv­ing a chance for re­flec­tion.

On Thurs­day there is soup and space to be still from 6.30pm un­til 8pm. St Bride’s Church’s new Eat Up ini­tia­tive con­tin­ues to meet every Wed­nes­day.

The new project pro­vides a hot meal each week, giv­ing lo­cals the chance to en­joy some warm food and some com­pany each week, from noon un­til 2pm.

St Bride’s is show­ing a film in the parish hall about the life of Arch­bishop Os­car Romero, an arch­bishop who was shot on March 24, 1980.

This will be on Fe­bru­ary 20 at 7pm.

The church is also hav­ing a clothes ap­peal for Mary’s Meals in the parish.

Bring clothes bagged on the week end­ing Fe­bru­ary 17 and 18.

Last date is noon on Sun­day, Fe­bru­ary 18.
